Garage Sales
Permit
Residents must obtain a permit prior to scheduled sale. Residents may have up to four (4) three (3) consecutive day sales during a calendar year at one location. One (1) sign may be posted on property and up to two (2) signs on nearby street corners.
The Garage Sale permit can be found here, but must be paid for and submitted in person at Kenneth City Town Hall (6000 54th Ave N) during office hours (09:00am to 4:00pm, Mon.-Fri. Closed from 12:30 to 1:00 for Lunch).

Cost: $5.00 check only.
Fine
Failure to possess a permit on the first day will result in a $10.00 late fee in addition to the $5.00 permit fee. Failure to pay late fee within two (2) business days will result in a fine of $88.00.
REGULATIONS FOR HOLDING A GARAGE SALE
(as set in Chapter 46, Article III, Sec. 46-31 of Kenneth City’s Code of Ordinances*)
- A permit MUST be obtained prior to sale.
- The cost to obtain a Garage Sale Permit is $5.00.
- One (1) sign, no more than 4 square feet can be on display on the property where the sale is being conducted
- Two (2) signs advertising the sale may be posted on nearby street corners, as long as, they provide the address of sale
- Tacking, painting, posting, or affixing of signs, posters, or any other advertising devices of any trees, utility poles, fences, sidewalks, or curbs is hereby prohibited.
- Signs must be removed each day at close of sale, or by end of daylight, whichever comes first
- Garage Sales are limited to four (4) times, for three (3) consecutive days during a 12-month period at one location. Free garage sales are offered during the Town’s Garage Sale Weekend and are included in the amount of annual sales allowed.
- Upon payment of a $5.00 fee, a permit will be issued and expire three (3) consecutive days after the provided start date of the sale.
- Failure to obtain a Garage Sale Permit prior to first day of sale will result in $10.00 late fee.
- Failure to pay the late fee or obtain a garage sale permit within three (3) days after requested will result in an $88.00 fine to property owner.
